Freedom is Another Word for Nothing Left to Lose …

What’s does freedom and independence mean to you at this time of seemingly self-imprisoned times?
Here’s a couple of thoughts to ponder during this weekend’s celebration of our freedom from tyranny…are we really free? Are we ALL free?

Here’s how the bible defines true freedom. Galatians 5:13-14: You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 “Now God is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of God is…. there is freedom.
And finally from Abraham Lincoln, a true believer in freedom for ALL.
“Our reliance is in the love of liberty which God has planted in our bosoms. Our defense is in the preservation of the spirit which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands, everywhere.”

Meet Our New Minister, Rev. Lauri Gist

It’s official as of April 1st. Rev. Lauri Gist joins the staff as senior minister at Unity of Ocala. We are delighted to have found the perfect person for our ministry. Lauri comes to us with a strong background in foundational Unity principles and much experience having served as senior minister at one of our sister churches, Unity of Citrus County. This closes our previous chapter of going 11 months without a minister following the retirement of Rev. Prentiss John Davis. We are proud to say that we made it work. It was thanks to so many talented Unity ministers, and special guest speakers that helped to fill our pulpit on Sunday mornings. We are particularly grateful to Rev. Gay Lynn Grigas who helped us out on so many Sundays and member Janice Puta who gave of her time and spiritual talents when ever asked. Please make a point to visit us and see for yourselves why we are so excited to have Rev. Lauri at the helm.
